Pam Thorburn

"I have always loved Sport. I knew from an early age I would become an athlete. My love of skiing came from my parents and it developed from there. I started when I was 3, and by the time I was leaving school at 16 to become a full time Ski Racer I was on the British National team and I was British Champion in various disciplines and age groups.

 

In my career, I made multiple Olympic Criteria’s and became the only British woman to compete in the World Cup circuit in the 2 different sports of Alpine skiing and Ski Cross and among only a couple of people in the World to do so.

Over the years, I had a variety of coaches. I soon realised how much difference a good coach makes. As my career transitioned from athlete to Coach I always kept this in mind. I love working with people to reach their goals, and working on myself to become the best coach I can be. "

"As a kid I wasn’t much into sports and I loved eating unhealthy and fatty foods. I got older, I started running and later found Crossfit. 


As a chef I already knew that eating a balanced diet can improve both your physical and mental state, and by adding fitness, it can take these improvements to the next level.

After experiencing this transformation myself, it became my passion to help others achieve their own fit lifestyle goals.

"Hi I’m Auke. After 5 years of doing kickboxing and mixed martial arts I found Crossfit and Olympic Weightlifting. I immediately fell in love with the mentality of working hard and getting better which I recognized from my days of doing martial arts. 

 

Meeting new people and sharing a passion is something that kept me going and improving.

Competing in Crossfit on the National and International level has taught me more about myself and what I’m capable off. If you do something that you love, personal growth is inevitable and I’m determined to become the best possible coach I can be.

This was something completely different from the teamsports I was used to doing, and even though I started seeing results, I missed the social side of sports, which is exactly what I love about CrossFit.
